The Indiana Fever has a lot to be excited about after the stellar rookie season from phenom Caitlin Clark. Clark seemingly broke record after record en route to winning the Kia Rookie of the Year award, only one vote first place vote shy of taking home the award unanimously.
After Clark’s strong debut, the Fever have made a variety of strong moves to bolster the roster around their rising star, including moves for veteran players DeWanna Bonner and Sophie Cunningham.
However, one Fever player won’t be a part of Clark’s sophomore campaign.
“Kristy Wallace announced today that she will not play during the 2025 season, electing to sit out the year,” the Fever announced from their official Twitter account on Tuesday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Don’t wanna help Caitlin Adios ! CUT her we can use the space on somebody who wants to be here,” one Fever fan wrote on Twitter.
“Sit out? This ain’t college. They paid her to do this? Seems odd. Unless she’s with child,” one fan added.
“I wish her all the best. Hoping she’s ok. That said, lets see the next move,” another fan added.
“Wishing Kristy the best. I’m not going to assume to know her motivation in making this move, but I support her. WNBA players don’t make enough to put up with the the kind of scrutiny that an underperforming player has to deal with on such a big stage,” someone else wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Fever handles Wallace’s absence.
