Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark came into the 2025 season having not missed a basketball game due to injury since high school. Unfortunately, injuries have been the theme of the season for the two-time All-Star so far this year.
For the third time this season, Clark is missing time due to injury, this time due to a groin that she tweaked just before the All-Star break. There was a sliver of hope that Clark would be able to return in the Fever’s first game after the break, against the New York Liberty, but it’s looking increasingly unlikely.
“Stephanie White says there is no update on Caitlin Clark today, as she’s going to be meeting with doctors today and tomorrow. She will still be making the trip to New York with the team, White says. Anticipated to be out tomorrow,” reported Fever writer Chloe Peterson on Monday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Team staying above .500, and get her back for playoff run is what this season boils down to,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“She is out a minimum of 2 weeks. Stephanie white needs to stop this bullhive,” another fan added.
“If she’s traveling with the team to NYC tomorrow, and she’s meeting with doctors today and tomorrow, that would mean that some of the doctors she is meeting with are in Indy and some are in NYC (I suppose it is possible she could meet with some doctors in Indy before she flys but why wouldn’t she just meet with them today as well),” someone else wrote.
Hopefully, Clark is able to make a full recovery and return in time to find her stride before the WNBA playoffs begin.
