The Indiana Fever are entering the 2025-26 season with a healthy Caitlin Clark after the sharpshooter missed all but 13 games last season due to nagging soft-tissue injuries. The Fever community held its collective breath when Clark landed awkwardly in a preseason game, but  Clark downplayed any concern.

I feel good. I just landed on my kneecap really hard,” Clark said, via ESPN. “I know there’s a committee of people that really wanted them [the refs] to start calling things, and I thought they did a great job of that.

“Honestly, I thought the refs were great, and it’s preseason, so you’re probably going to see more fouls called. I expect that number to drop. But I think overall, it’s going to improve the product.”

Fans were worried again on Monday when Clark was seen at practice rocking a leg sleeve, but head coach Stephanie White assured reporters that the accessory was purely cosmetic, per Fever reporter Chloe Peterson.

However, ahead of Sunday’s regular season opener, the Fever aren’t 100% healhty. White also gave an update on forward Monique Billings, who is dealing with an ankle injury.

White said that the team will continue to evaluate Billings day-to-day and that the franchise will  “give her an opportunity to make sure she’s as close to 100% as possible.”

Indiana will face the Dallas Wings on Sunday in a matchup of the last four number one overall picks in the WNBA.
