Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark has never been shy about showing emotion when she’s on the court. While that competitive fire is often a good thing, it sometimes can create some problems for her and her team when she loses her cool a bit too much.
Clark got off to a hot start in Wednesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks, scoring seven points in the first two minutes of the contest. The Fever went on to dominate the first half, taking a 48-34 lead into halftime.
While it was a dominant showing from Clark and the Fever, the half did not exactly end on a high note.
On Indiana’s final offensive possession before the half, Clark was called for an offensive foul, with Ariel Atkins taking a charge for the Sparks. Clark clearly was not a fan of the call, and she let the officials know.
Before going back into the locker room for halftime, Clark approached one of the officials and passionately expressed her displeasure, yelling and clapping at him.
The official did not have a lot of patience for Clark, giving her a technical foul before the half.

The technical foul elicited a lot of reactions from social media, with many fans outraged at the call, believing the official should have shown a bit more restraint. Others were happy to see the competitive fire from Clark.
“That ref HATES her, I’m convinced. He’s so damn soft. What a joke!” one fan wrote in a post on X.
“You don’t call a foul, then give her the technical,” another fan complained of the officiating.
“Imagine MJ or LeBron getting a tech for that lol,” someone else added.
“I’ve never been so happy to see someone get a tech. The fire is back!” another fan wrote.
Deserved or not, it’s clear that Clark’s fire is back after she missed most of last season with an injury.
