When WNBA superstar Brittney Griner returns to the court this month after spending most of last year trapped in a foreign prison in Russian custody, it will undoubtedly be a big celebration. And it appears that the celebration just got bigger.

According to TMZ Sports, three-time Grammy winner Wyclef Jean will be performing a special halftime show at this month’s season-opening game between the Phoenix Mercury and the Chicago Sky in honor of Griner’s return to the court. He is also expected to put on a postgame concert.

“TMZ Sports has learned the Phoenix Mercury have teamed up with The Sum, a new music platform from Anagram Studios, to bring in Jean to perform during their May 21 game against the Chicago Sky at the Footprint Center to celebrate Griner’s return on what will be her first home game since the Russia ordeal,” TMZ wrote on Wednesday.

And it sounds like the Mercury are excited about the event.
