Robert Miller, better known to WWE fans as Bushwacker Butch passed away on Monday.

Miller gained fame as one half of the popular WWE tag team, The Bushwhackers. Miller and Brian Wickens, affectionately known as Bushwhacker Luke, were a fan-favorite tag team in the WWE’s heyday of the 1980s. They gained incredible popularity along the way and thousands of fans.

Wickens announced Miller’s passing on his Facebook account.

“Update; Our dear Bob has passed away. Those we love never truly leave us. There are things that death cannot touch. We will always love u uncle Bob Miller until we meet again,” Wickens wrote.

The Bushwhackers were elected to the WWE Hall of Fame in the CLass of 2015 along with “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Rikishi, Alundra Blayze, Larry Zbyszko, Tatsumi Fujinami, Kevin Nash, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Conner “The Cursher” Michaelek.

He was 78 years old.

The wrestling world mourned Bushwhacker Butch’s passing.

The Honky Tonk Man offered condolences. “Condolences go out to the Butch Bushwacker’s family for the loss of really good fellow and a friend of mine for 40 years,” the legendary Intercontinental Champion tweeted.

All Elite Wrestling offered a classy tribute to Miller. “AEW joins the wrestling world in mourning the passing of Butch Miller. Our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and his fans,” AEW said.

WWE on-screen authority figure and longtime pro wrestler Adam Pearce tweeted, “Godspeed, Bushwhacker Butch Miller. Rest well, sir.”

The “On This Day in WWE” Twitter account posted archival footage of the very first promo that The Bushwhackers cut.

“RIP Bushwhacker Butch,” veteran pro wrestler Frankie Kazarian tweeted. “Godspeed sir. Thank you for everything, including the one match we had together. This is so sad. I ran into Luke at the hotel early on Thursday and chatted for a few. At one point later, I saw him requesting elp as there was an emergency as I was leaving.”

Finally, Hurricane Helms offered a tribute as well, thanking Butch “for the memories and entertainment.”
