Pola’ivao Leati Sika Anoa’i, better known to wrestling fans as Sika of The Wild Samoans, passed away Tuesday. He was 79.

The legendary wrestler was the father of the great Roman Reigns and is a member of the Samoan Dynasty, one of the most prominent and prevalent pro wrestling families.

He most prominently appeared for the then-named World Wrestling Federation in the 1980s. He made stops in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Georgia Championship Wrestling, Mid-South Wrestling, and some other promotions. But Sika and Afa made the biggest mark as a member of The Wild Samoans tag team.

Smackdown will emanate from Madison Square Garden in New York City this weekend, where Sika competed many times. No word yet on a tribute, but with the Bloodline storyline still going, it figures to be something they will surely address and acknowledge.

The wrestling world poured out in mourning for the legendary Sika after the news of his death arrived.

Godspeed and RIP to Sika Anoa’i.
