Linda McMahon WWE

With President-Elect Donald Trump preparing for Day One of his presidency, the task of putting together his cabinet is underway with vetting candidates for various positions. One name reportedly in the mix to be the Secretary of Commerce is Linda McMahon.

That’ right, the former WWE executive is one of the names being considered for the position, but this shouldn’t come as a huge shock. Trump is a WWE Hall of Famer with long ties to the McMahons, and McMahon does have past political experience; well, sort of. In addition to making appearances campaigning for Republican candidates, making inroads with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and being a notable donor to the GOP, McMahon has also previously run for a Senate seat twice.

Of course, the irony here is McMahon previously called Trump’s statements about women “deplorable,” an ironic adjective given the recent election cycle. Still, McMahon seems to understand Trump and trust him moving forward.

“Once you’re his friend, he is loyal to the end,” McMahon told The Washington Post. “He’s an incredibly loyal, loyal friend.”

At this point, I’m really not sure if Trump is assembling a cabinet or a panel for a reality TV show. Maybe it’s both?
