ESPN commentator Pat McAfee made his gallant return to the WWE universe on Sunday during the annual Royal Rumble.

“It’s great to be back,” McAfee declared in the caption to the video.

McAfee, who also joined the Royal Rumble broadcast in 2022, will commentate alongside Michael Graves and Michael Cole.

The WWE world was quick to react to the shocking return:

“Your commentary makes it so much fun to watch WWE! I wish you were doing all the shows all the time!” one fan wrote.

“I’m mad you didn’t come out to the Bud Light song. **GLASS BREAK** BE A BUD, TELL A BUD TO GRAB SOME LIGHTS!!!!” another WWE fan wrote.

“I’ve literally never been more happy I missed him sooo much!” tweeted one fan.

“I don’t know why Corey is so mad. If it was me I’d be honored to have you on commentary and even dance on the announce table to Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme song with you!!!”

“I couldn’t stop smiling at Cole’s reaction; the entire time he seemed so stunned and excited for you to be there!” wrote one fan.

McAfee remained on the commentary and didn’t participate in the actual Rumble, which was eventually won by Cody Rhodes.
