WWE Superstar Sonya Deville appears to be in some trouble with police in New Jersey.

According to TMZ, Deville, whose real name is Daria Rae Berenato, was arrested in New Jersey last month on charges of gun possession.

After an Atlantic City valet noticed a gun in the glove box of her car on February 19, they called the police. Police arrived and found out that Deville did not possess a New Jersey permit for the gun and was arrested.

The gun is registered in the state of Florida.

The 29-year-old is expected to appear in court later this month after being charged with one count of unlawful weapon possession — handgun without a permit.

In 2020, police in Florida arrested a stalker who had broken into Deville’s house and entered with a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape, and mace, allegedly telling police he was looking to kidnap the wrestler and take her hostage. So it’s a bit understandable why the professional wrestler would feel the need to have a weapon of some kind nearby.

Deville has been with the WWE since 2015 and has become a mainstay of the main roster in recent years. She recently appeared in the 2023 Royal Rumble, though it is currently not known what she might be doing at Wrestlemania or if this arrest will impact her work with the company.
