Last year, WWE launched the Next In Line program, which is a program for college athletes to train for a post-collegiate WWE career while getting paid for their name, image, and likeness while they’re in college.

For WrestleMania Week, WWE announced that they will be holding a multi-day talent tryout for current and recently graduated college athletes at the practice facility of the Dallas Cowboys. Starting on March 30, more than 50 men and women will be invited to take part in the tryout and those participating have a diverse range of athletic backgrounds. Such backgrounds include football, basketball, track and field, wrestling, volleyball, gymnastics, cheer and dance.

In addition, WWE will have scouts on hand at the NFL Scouting Combine identifying NFL Draft-eligible players who might be a great fit for the pro wrestling business. Some of these players could also be invited to the tryout.

For recent college graduates, this is an opportunity for a potential developmental contract. For current college athletes, WWE will use the tryout as consideration for their second Next In Line class. WWE’s first NIL class consisted of 15 college athletes from four different sports and included Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson.
