A former Pro Bowl running back has decided to take his talents to the XFL.

According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, veteran Phillip Lindsay is signing with the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL.

“A two-time 1,000 yard-rusher, Lindsay should have ample opportunities in June Jones’ offense to showcase himself for an NFL return and is still only 28,” the NFL insider tweeted on Saturday afternoon.

Lindsay last appeared in the NFL with the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins in 2021. He spent this past season with the Indianapolis Colts but didn’t appear in a game, as he served as practice squad insurance until he was eventually released in November of last year.

However, Lindsay is more known for his time with the Denver Broncos where he burst onto the scene as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado in 2018. In Lindsay’s rookie season, he recorded 1,037 rushing yards on 192 carries (5. 4 yards per carry) with nine rushing touchdowns, good enough for his first and only Pro Bowl selection. He followed up that season with 1,011 rushing yards in 2019. Though, he was never able to replicate those numbers and became a free agent after his third season in Denver.

It remains to be seen if Lindsay can regain his prior form, but an XFL audition is worth a shot for a talented running back that’s still on the right side of 30.
