Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving isn’t likely to forget his last trip to Oklahoma City, what with a haunted hotel that gave him bedbugs and all. On Wednesday, Hilton issued an apology to Irving and the Cavaliers over the incident.
“The comfort of our guests is a top priority, and we are very sorry to hear about Mr. Irving’s stay,” Hilton said. “Since bedbugs can be easily transmitted anywhere and are often lodged in luggage or on clothing, our hotel maintains high levels of vigilance and we perform regular inspections.”
Irving and the Cavaliers were posted up at the Skirvin Hilton in downtown OKC prior to their game with the Thunder this weekend. After discovering bedbugs on his pillow, Irving relocated to his couch in the hotel room and allegedly got just three hours of sleep.
He woke up not feeling well and was taken out of the game against the Thunder after just nine minutes of action with what appeared to be flu-like symptoms after his experience with the little critters.
No one else was affected in the Cavaliers contingent or the rest of the hotel, and it appears it was an isolated incident.
However, Irving was understandably none too happy about it happening to him in the first place.
“Just imagine how freaked out you’d be if you saw friggin’ five big bedbugs just sitting on your pillow,” he said. “I woke up itching, and I’m just looking around and I’m like, ‘Are you serious right now?’ It was 3 a.m., and I was so tired at that point.”
While Irving is back towards full health and the hotel room has been worked on, there may be an opportunity for some good to come of it all. That being in the form of a deal with the Cavs and Terminix to have all rooms inspected every road trip.
Dear Kyrie Irving, we have a message to share from our Cleveland branch manager.”Hi Kyrie, we’re sorry to hear about…

Irving returned to action just one day later and poured in a team high 30 points in a 96-88 loss to the Detroit Pistons. So, the affects of the begbugs are about the same as the rumors of the Skirvin being haunted amongst NBA circles.
