With the Miami Dolphins undergoing voluntary workouts, a notable presence is missing from the team, and that is one of defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. At this point in the offseason, the key word is “voluntary,” so Suh has a right to certainly not be there.

However, that does not mean has teammates are cool with it, as reports surfaced that some of Suh’s fellow Dolphins weren’t too happy with his absence. While we don’t know which teammates are unhappy, quarterback Ryan Tannehill was not among them, as he recently told the Miami Herald he has “no hard feelings” in regards to Suh’s absence from voluntary workouts.

“I’m sure he’s working to get better doing his own thing,” Tannehill said. “No hard feelings. He’s done things a certain way his whole career, a process he goes through both mentally and physically. Sometimes you have to go through your own process to feel fully prepared in your own way.”

Suh’s track record of attendance during team voluntary workouts is nothing new to most people, especially given his inconsistent appearance when he played for Detroit. The Dolphins signed Suh being aware of this track record, so the team having a problem with it now of all times would be odd. But once the team gets into mandatory workouts, there should be no doubt that Suh will be there. However, It is interesting to note, that safety Reshad Jones is also staying absent from voluntary workouts in pursuit of a new contract, yet the focus is on Suh not being present. Players certainly have a right to their own opinions of voluntary workouts, but for now, whatever Suh is doing on his own seems to be suiting him just fine.
