It’s pretty common to see two return men on a punt or kick try to fool the coverage team by reversing the ball on return. One high school return team didn’t fool a high school kicker, however.

Kelly Macnamara, a female kicker at North Penn High School in Pennsylvania, wasn’t having any sort of this trickery. While North Penn’s opponent was trying a trick play on a return, Macnamara came in and laid out the returner, who was looking to head toward the end zone.

As you can see in the video, Macnamara saved the day. It seemed like the coverage team was fooled to a certain extent and were just about to give up a touchdown. Macnamara came in and laid a big hit on the returner and avoided giving up a touchdown.

You go, girl. Most players — male or female — would kill to make a play like this. Here’s to more plays like this from Macnamara.
