If you love cats, best stay away from Portland Trailblazers guard Gerald Henderson then, because he certainly doesn’t trust you.

Yes, Henderson apparently has a significant problem with the furry felines and their owners. Enough so that he let loose in a recent interview with Oregon Live.

“I don’t trust cat people, man,” said Henderson. “Cats are creepy to me.”

For his part, Henderson is clearly a dog person. He is an owner of a 5-year old Pharaoh Hound, a breed most have never heard of and took some researching on the internet for him to find.

“I wanted a dog that wasn’t going to shed a whole bunch — No. 1 — because I ain’t got time to clean up around the house,” Henderson said. “I also wanted an athletic dog to be able to run around for when I go for runs or follow me on the bike. I came across Pharaoh hounds.”

Being a dog person is one thing, but throwing shade to a whole group of animals and their owners? That’s taking it to a whole different level.

Compare that to the story of former Trailblazers, and current Memphis Grizzlies forward, Zach Randolph. At least he has a good reason to not like cats or their owners — he’s afraid of them.

“You can’t be both a dog lover and a cat lover. I’ve got a crazy phobia about cats. For some reason, I’m always thinking they’re going to scratch me. If a cat walks up, I’m going, ‘Oh no, this dude about to scratch me — I know it!’ Cats scare the hell out of me. I love animals, but I’m no cat lover. Guys usually aren’t.”

Irrational or not, at least Randolph is man enough to admit his fear and not just simply hate on one group of animals for no apparent reason.

Love dogs all you want, but do you also have to hate on cats because of it? Can’t we all get along as pet owners and human beings?
