The Chargers are making their way to Los Angeles this year, so now is a good time to add some L.A. star power to the front office. For the Chargers, there is no bigger star available than LaDainian Tomlinson.

The legendary hall of fame running back will reportedly join the Chargers with a front office position in Los Angeles, although the exact role he will take on remains unconfirmed.

Tomlinson is already located in L.A. with a job with the NFL Network. While a job as general manager is not in the cards, having Tomlinson to serve as a face the franchise can trot out on their behalf would seem to make sense at this time. Tomlinson can also keep his job with the NFL Network if that is the case.

Whatever the case is for the Chargers and Tomlinson, seeing the two reunited seems like a positive step forward for the franchise as it relocates from San Diego. The transition to Los Angeles is already having some struggles winning over new fans, so hopefully having Tomlinson to spread the good cheer will come in handy for the team in its efforts. Adding him to a front office role in the same year Tomlinson is inducted to the Hall of Fame is just a cherry on top as far as timing is concerned.

Will Tomlinson be able to reach out and connect with fans easier than the franchise could? That is a great unknown but one the Chargers have to hope is answered affirmatively. If not, the Chargers will continue to struggle to build a fanbase in their new city unless they can make a push for AFC West title and AFC championship contention.
