Josh Norman is now the highest paid corner in NFL history after Washington handed him a massive contract this offseason. In this era of overreacting to absolutely everything, some freaked out when video was posted of Norman getting beat by WR Pierre Garcon in practice, and others used the opportunity to crack a joke.
@MySportsUpdate but he's the highest rating lol madden is a joke

That would be Cardinals corner Patrick Peterson throwing that jab at Norman based on his ratings in Madden NFL 17. Norman, naturally, took his opportunity to counter-punch:
@RealPeterson21 @MySportsUpdate guess they ain't put NO #RESPEK! On your name "#4"!
The war of words continued after Washington’s training camp practices, in which Norman talked about Peterson’s comments further.
“That guy? Come on, man,” Norman said about Peterson on Thursday. “Be No. 4 and be happy. Come on, don’t talk about me, I’m not talking about you. I mean, I’ll still continue to work and try to be better than No. 1. Where that is, I don’t know, but I’m working toward that. Obviously he’s somewhere trolling other people. He should be worried about what he’s doing on the field and if he gets beat up this year. He shouldn’t be trolling me.”
And this battle between two of the league’s best corners continued beyond their Twitter barbs, and even brought Washington WR DeSean Jackson into the mix. Norman has been beaten in practices by Jackson on occasion, and Peterson followed up in another tweet firing at Jackson for not having many big games against Norman in the few times they’ve played against each other. Jackson, naturally, wasn’t pleased about this:
You know if u got something to say to me you know how to relay that message cuz
— Desean Jackson (@DeSeanJackson11) August 4, 2016
“I’m just wondering why this dude was speaking on me and bringing me up in conversation. … Both of them guys are two of the great corners in this league and they’ve definitely earned the respect, but just try to keep guys names out of your mouth. Just go out there and play ball,” Jackson said on Thursday.
So after this war of words involving three players, mark your calendars for December 4, when Washington and Arizona meet.
