The Dallas Cowboys are using a popular New England Patriots motto in an attempt to inspire players and Rob Gronkowski isn’t happy about it.
The boisterous Patriots tight end took offense to the Cowboys using the phrase “Do Your Job” on a wall in Dallas’ practice facility. The phrase was popularized by New England head coach Bill Belichick during the Patriots Super Bowl-winning 2014 season. The team has since trademarked the phrases three times, but it didn’t stop Dallas from putting it up.

The phrase “Do Your Job” usually wouldn’t carry any particular reaction, as it’s heard and used in day-to-day life. But, on the football field, the Patriots have staked claim to the motto as an inspirational quote. Plus, to make serious coin off of it.
After getting wind of Rovell’s tweet, Gronkowski posted on his website about not being happy with the Cowboys “stealing” the Patriots slogan, while throwing some serious shade Dallas’ way.
“While we all know that the Pats thrashed the Cowboys 30-6 last October and Dallas hasn’t been to the Super Bowl since the 1995 season, so they need all the motivation they can get – but can’t America’s Team come up with their own slogan instead of stealing ours?”
Gronkowski is upset, but Dallas isn’t technically doing anything wrong. As long as the Cowboys are not using the slogan for monetary gain, it’s fair to use. “Do Your Job” might be the Patriots slogan, but it doesn’t prevent the Cowboys from using it as inspiration – even if that’s weird.
