In an interview with the Steelers official website, Terry Bradshaw says that he thinks Ben Roethlisberger is one of the best, if not the best, QB in the league.

“I would rate Ben right on top if the list, ahead of (Tom) Brady for sure and anybody else, (Philip) Rivers, Eli (Manning). He is big, strong, and poised,” said Bradshaw.

“I would start with the most important thing a quarterback has to be, poised. If you panic in that pocket you are no good. I don’t care what else is there, you have to be poised.

“Ben has amazing talent, strong arm, strong guy, big in big games, clutch throws, makes somethings happen. I have always admired him. I have the greatest respect for the job he has done and how he handles himself as a professional.

“The offense they are running is just amazing. The job he does and how he stands in there is impressive. It’s been years of solid, exceptional quarterback play. He could have been the MVP in the league last year if he would have stayed healthy. I am not saying this because I am a Steeler and trying to suck up to anybody. I am just telling you he is special, different.

“I’ll take Roethlisberger over any of those guys.”

This interview was done with the Steelers official website, which makes it highly unlikely that Bradshaw will say Roethlisberger isn’t the greatest QB since himself, especially for the Steelers. And while Roethlisberger has undergone a bit of a career renaissance in past years with the team’s new focus on the vertical passing game, saying he’s better than Tom Brady might be a bit of a stretch.

It may also be concerning that Bradshaw still thinks two of the best QBs in the game are Philip Rivers and Eli Manning and not say, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, or Cam Newton. Maybe Bradshaw forgot those guys exist, and thus, doesn’t realize Roethlisberger is a worse quarterback than those three players.

A former Steeler QB thinks a current Steeler QB is one of the best in the NFL at his position. What else is new?
