It’s no secret that Donald Trump can be a bit litigious. The guy has wound up in court so much that there’s an entire Wikipedia page called “Legal affairs of Donald Trump.”

And, as Tennessee Titans linebacker Justin Staples learned recently, that willingness to sue extends down to Trump’s developments.

According to TMZ, Staples, a third-year player who grew up in Chicago, and his wife have been sued by Trump Tower Chicago for allegedly failing to pay the full cost of their wedding.

TMZ reports that Trump Tower charged Staples and his wife Amber $79,484 to host their wedding last June but is now claiming that the couple paid only $30,000.

Based on a last-minute change to the bill, TMZ speculates that something went wrong at the wedding, which could explain why Staples didn’t pay the full tab.

Now, here’s a big clue. According to the lawsuit, at the end of the reception, the hotel slashed another $5,062.13 from the bill, so it seems like something happened … maybe food wasn’t served, the cake was wonky, the bar ran out of liquor, the joint shut down too early … something.

Staples’ agent tell us, Justin paid every penny he was obligated to pay and the claim is “baseless.”

Donald Trump himself probably isn’t worrying about $50,000 debts owed to his hotels (although you never know with that guy), but his developments seem to be living up to his reputation.

We imagine that if Staples wins a Super Bowl during the Trump Administration, he won’t be visiting the White House.
