A very scary moment on Saturday night in Philadelphia, as Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvirth suddenly collapsed in the crease during the first period of the team’s game against the New Jersey Devils. The 29-year-old was stretchered off the ice, but did regain consciousness and waved to the crowd.

There are no details yet on Neuvirth’s condition and what caused him to collapse. We’ll update the post as more information becomes available.
UPDATE: Neuvirth is “awake and alert”, and has been taken to a local hospital. There will be an update with more information tomorrow.

UPDATE No. 2: Neuvirth reportedly wasn’t feeling well before the game, but goaltender Steve Mason was already sick too so the Flyers chose to play Neuvirth.
