The LEGO Movie was a bit of an up-and-down roller coaster for some, but one of the true highlights of the animated film was undoubtedly Batman, voiced by Will Arnett. Before Ben Affleck gets a chance to take on the role of the caped crusader in his own solo film, Arnett will be getting to shine once more as LEGO Batman in the appropriately-named LEGO Batman Movie.

Those going to see Batman v Superman will more than likely be treated to the first trailer for the movie. Or you can just watch it below, with a quick intro voiced by Arnett, of course.

If there was one character from The LEGO Movie that would deserve his or her own feature film follow-up, it was clearly Batman. Batman is a headliner, as was the case for the latest installment in the DC cinematic universe with Batman v Superman. The sequel to Man of Steel had Batman first in the title for a reason after all.

Now the mini brick figure of the Dark Knight gets to show off a brilliant blend of animated action and comedy, which the teaser trailer does a good job of showing off. We also get a quick look at some possible cameos to appear in the film, including the Justice League with Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman and Green Lantern (and what appears to be Green Arrow off on the right)…

LEGO Batman Movie

There is a whole world of possibilities for what to do with this film and fans of The LEGO Movie and Batman will have to wait to learn anything more about this. Who will be the main villain or villains? Will a LEGO Joker or another LEGO version of a classic Batman foe be the antagonist? Will any characters from The LEGO Movie show up to lend a helping hand?

One thing is clear. With the featured films featuring Batman getting darker and more violent from the Dark Knight trilogy to Batman v Superman, The LEGO Batman movie will bring a much lighter side of the character to a much younger or younger-at-heart audience next year.

The LEGO Batman Movie is due for a release on February 10, 2017.
