Argentina’s World Cup will *not* be coming to a premature end after all. A Marcos Rojo volley in the 86th minute gave them a 2-1 win over Nigeria, boosting them to second place in Group D and a date with Group C winners France in the Round of 16.

Victor Moses tied the match at one after burying a penalty in the 51st minute, but Argentina was the more dangerous side while searching for the game-winner.
They also got some help from Group D winners Croatia, who scored a 90th minute winner through Ivan Perisic to beat Iceland 2-1 and officially eliminate their fellow UEFA nation in their first World Cup.
Argentina legend Diego Maradona was pleased with the result.
