After coming up empty on a few great scoring opportunities Friday night, Jozy Altidore finally came through with a header in the 89th minute to give the United States Men’s National Team a 1-0 victory over Canada in a friendly.

Having just entered the match as a substitution in the previous minute, Ethan Finlay delivered a gorgeous cross to Altidore, who put it home for the winner:

This is Altidore’s 33rd international goal, putting the 26-year-old one behind Eric Wynalda for third on the USMNT career list.

The USMNT is now off until late March, when they play Guatemala in a pair of World Cup qualifiers (March 25 and 29).
