Seahawks running back Eddie Lacy has a lot on the line on Monday. If the heavyset running back gets down to 250 by his weigh-in, he’ll take home another $55,000 check.
Lacy’s one-year contract with Seattle requires seven weigh-ins, with Lacy netting a bonus if he can reach his weight goal. He had to be under 255 pounds for his May 15 weigh-in, and he cleared that by two pounds. We’ll see if he managed to lose three more pounds over the last month.
Lacy reportedly weighed 267 pounds when he was making offseason visits before signing with Seattle. The Seahawks want him down to 245 pounds for the season, which would get him more incentive dough.
From ESPN’s Sheil Kapadia:
During the season, Lacy’s weight clauses are tied to him being at 245 pounds or less. Pete Carroll has said he wants Lacy to play big — just not too big.
“Whatever he likes, that’s what I like,” Lacy said earlier this month.

Asked what kinds of foods he has had to cut out to shed weight, Lacy said, “What kinds of things? Eating a lot. I’m from Louisiana. I like good food. Gotta change it.”
You can see from Lacy’s Twitter that he’s putting in the work.

According to Kapadia’s report, Lacy’s got nearly as much money in total incentives, which go beyond the weight clauses, as he has in guaranteed salary:
The Seahawks and Lacy agreed to a one-year contract that includes $2.865 million guaranteed. Lacy can earn an additional $2.685 million through incentives, including the weight clauses.
