Mike Trout has been the best baseball player on the planet since 2012, and on Monday, the Angels’ outfielder turned 26 years old. Yes, Mike Trout is *just now* turning 26. Think about that (or just look at the following tweets).

And it’s pretty fitting that, on Trout’s 26th birthday, he reached a career milestone showing how ridiculous he is. Trout doubled in the fourth inning off Baltimore Orioles pitcher Dylan Bundy, for his 1,000th career hit:

Trout wasn’t done mashing at the plate. For the fourth time in his career, Trout cranked a dinger on his birthday:

However, the pregame birthday celebrating was probably not quite as enjoyable for Trout. His Angels teammates doused him with an assortment of items that included eggs, Coffee-mate creamer, baby powder, Icee, and cereal:

Gross. However, the six-time All-Star did say that “it was fun” and “an Angels tradition”:
But hey — the Angels celebrate all their birthdays like this. MVPs aren’t above the clubhouse code. “It’s an Angels tradition,” said Trout to MLB.com’s Maria Guardado. “It started when Weaver was here and Albert. They started it, and now it’s evolved into a crazy … I can’t really explain that. It was fun.”
