The founding members of Guns N’ Roses will reunite to headline Coachella 2016, and possibly play a massive stadium tour in North America, according to Billboard:
Guns N’ Roses, with founding members Axl Rose and Slash, will headline the Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., set for April 15-17 and April 22-24, according to multiple sources. The reunited band is also negotiating with promoters to play as many as 25 football stadiums in North America in the summer of 2016, and is scheduled to be one of the first acts to play the new Las Vegas Arena, set to open April 6.
Consequence of Sound reports that while the Guns N’ Roses reunion lineup is unclear, Axl Rose and Slash will be involved:
The band’s reunion lineup is unclear, though Axl, Slash, and Duff McKagan are all involved, sources tell CoS. Matt Sorum is believed to be behind the kit in place of original drummer Steven Adler. An official announcement is imminent.
Axl Rose and Slash last played together in 1993, at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, so it’s been a long time since the two rock legends performed together. And they have a pretty good reason to do so, as Consequence of Sound adds that the band will be paid “between $3 million and $8 million per show”. Goodness.
