Bill Belichick Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

When it rains in New England, it pours. The same can be said for Bill Belichick. Pressure is ramping up in Foxborough as the Patriots have looked listless lately. While they competed on Sunday, the Pats lost on the road to the Las Vegas Raiders. Quarterback Mac Jones wasn’t sharp enough again, and the team couldn’t finish it.

It’s left many to question Belichick and his prowess. Former Patriot great Tedy Bruschi weighed in on ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ on Monday morning. Bruschi said from his vantage point it’s clear that there’s a disconnect emerging.

“To start the game with 2 penalties [on offense]. To finish the game with 3 penalties. That is a sign that Bill [Belichick] isn’t reaching these guys.”

Bruschi would undoubtedly know what it means to connect with Bill. He played on three of the Patriots’ championship teams in 2001, 2003, and 2004.

But it’s clear that something isn’t working anymore. The Patriots were once one of the NFL’s best franchises, if not the cream of the crop, for the last 20 years. But after Tom Brady left the team, things have dissipated. The Buffalo Bills clobbered the Patriots in the playoffs during Jones’ rookie season at QB. They missed the postseason last year and appear in no shape to make it again this year.

Whether he wants it to or not, questions will continue to be asked about Bill Belichick.

The NFL world had plenty to say.
