The NCAA transfer portal is wide open on Christmas Day. Arizona quarterback Jayden de Laura and Florida State QB Tate Rodemaker were two big names who entered the portal. Later in the day, a top SEC cornerback also announced his intentions to enter the portal.
Georgia Bulldogs freshman Daniel Harris, a former four-star cornerback in the Class of 2023, will transfer. Harris announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal with a lengthy message on social media.
The now-former Georgia defensive back made the post on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.
“I have decided to enter the transfer portal with three years left of eligibility,” Harris said. He thanked his Bulldog teammates, head coach Kirby Smart, and God. He posted an hourglass emoji also, indicating there’s plenty of time left for him.

Prior to attending Georgia, Harris graduated from Gulliver Prep, a co-ed private school located in Miami, Florida. He was a four-star player, according to 247Sports’ recruiting services. He was nationally ranked 163rd on their composite rankings and inside the Top 20 at his position of cornerback.
Prior to his commitment, programs like Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State offered Harris, among others. They may perhaps be schools to watch for.
Oftentimes, it won’t matter if the program is good or bad. Nowadays, if a player feels he needs a better situation, all it takes is jumping into the transfer portal. This is the way.
