Liberty Flames quarterback Kaidon Salter enjoyed a terrific 2023 season. But after the Flames, well, went down in flames to the Oregon Ducks in the Fiesta Bowl, Salter’s decided to look elsewhere. According to Hayes Fawcett, the Liberty quarterback will enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Fawcett reported Salter’s intentions in a post on X, the website formerly known as Twitter on Tuesday.
“Liberty QB Kaidon Salter plans to enter the transfer portal,” Fawcett said.

Salter scored 44 touchdowns in the 2023 season. He threw for 32 of them and also ran for 12 of them. Salter was certainly one of the most productive players in the nation and led Liberty to an undefeated season.
Now, he’ll likely be a sought-after quarterback in the transfer portal. The portal is still wide open for many teams who’ll need a new quarterback in the 2024 season. Perhaps Miami could be a destination for him after Cam Ward decided to enter the 2024 NFL Draft. The Hurricanes boast a really talented recruiting class next year and a player of Salter’s caliber under center could be a huge jolt.
But the Canes are just one possible landing spot. There’s no indication early on where he will land. But, certainly, another top-quality quarterback has entered the transfer portal. Expect many suitors for him over the next few weeks.
