The New York Jets will hope that their season looks quite a bit different than the previous one after the team had a pretty disappointing 2023 season following the season-ending injury to Aaron Rodgers. As the team hopes for a change in their record, it sounds like they’ll also be getting a change in their uniforms.
On Tuesday evening, New York Jets team owner Woody Johnson announced that the team will be getting new uniforms which are set to be announced in April.
“You knew it was coming right? New uniforms this April,” Woody Johnson announced in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this is a pretty significant announcement from the team. As a result, it understandably led to a lot of reactions on social media.
Jets starting their offseason championship just a few minutes after the Super Bowl ends. This franchise will never not be hilarious. https://t.co/unqq9Mv5o2

The rare uniforms that were so, so, so, so, so bad they had to be immediately abandoned when first eligible https://t.co/OHHJ7dqcTD

Five years ago the Jets unveiled the worst uniforms any NFL team has worn in at least 50 years. Fans couldn’t wait for them to switch to throwbacks. And somehow this idiot owner STILL botched the announcement and pissed off the fanbase. Nobody swings and misses like Woody Johnson https://t.co/rttPWogReO

While they will technically be new uniforms, they won’t necessarily be a completely new look, either. According to Pro Football Talk, the team will be pivoting to throwback versions of the uniforms worn from the 1980s and 1990s, which will now become their primary uniform.
The team debuted the look during their season-opening win against the Buffalo Bills this season, but the Jets will now have a green version and a black version as well, beginning next season.
