Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton appeared to suffer a terrible leg injury on Monday night. But a day later, the Pacers star appears to have a significantly brighter outlook.

While Haliburton didn’t avoid injury entirely, he did avoid serious injury. ESPN reported that he suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain in his left leg.

As for his future status, the network reported that Haliburton would be reevaluated in two weeks.

“Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton has avoided serious injury, with an MRI showing that he suffered just a Grade 1 left hamstring strain,” ESPN wrote. “Haliburton’s status is expected to be reevaluated in approximately two weeks, but there’s relief that he’s avoided serious injury.”

Haliburton injured himself during the Pacers’ home matchup against the Boston Celtics. The Pacers were hanging tough with the Celtics when he went down late in the first half. It immediately became clear that he suffered a hamstring injury.

But fortunately for both he and Indiana, Haliburton avoided something worse. A Grade 1 strain isn’t ideal, but it is easier to recover from.

This season, Haliburton’s averaged 23.6 points per game through 33 games. He’s also averaged 12.5 assists and 4.2 total rebounds per game while shooting 49.7 percent from the floor. Haliburton also has posted a 40.3 percent mark from 3 and an 86.8 percent mark from the free throw line. Simply put, he’s been one of the best all-around players this season. So, it’s perhaps good for everyone that he avoided a serious injury.
