Green Bay Packers Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers are suddenly surging. Led by the play of quarterback Jordan Love, the Packers are on a bit of a run as December begins. They just knocked off the Kansas City Chiefs in an intense game at Lambeau Field. Now, as Sunday looms, they received good news in the form of a star returning to practice.

Running back Aaron Jones is back at practice. Jones has missed significant time this season while dealing with a nagging hamstring injury on top of a knee injury that’s kept him off the field.

Wes Hodkiewicz, a longtime Packers reporter, noted Jones’ presence at padded practice on Thursday.

“Aaron Jones (knee) was participating in Thursday’s padded practice at Nitschke,” Hodkiewicz said. He also included a video of Jones doing drills in pads.

To his benefit, Jones appeared fluid and unbothered during this drill. That has to be comforting news, especially as Green Bay piles up momentum heading into the season’s final month.

Injuries have led to this being Jones’ most unproductive season to date. He’s only piled up 66 carries, 245 yards, and two rushing touchdowns all season. He has one receiving touchdown to give him three on the season. That is a career-low for him after he scored just four in his rookie season. It’s a far cry from his NFL-leading 19 touchdowns in 2019.
