Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper may land in hot water. A video surfaced on Sunday afternoon that appears to show Tepper throwing a drink on a Jacksonville Jaguars fan.

In an ironic twist, the video appeared after a more positive video emerged. Kassidy Hill posted a video that showed Tepper approach a Panthers fan who held a sign reading, “2-13, I never missed a game.” That goodwill gesture dried up quickly, to say the least.

In the video, Tepper appeared to become irritated and then tossed his drink at a Jaguars fan sitting in the stands from his spot in a luxury box. The fan got on his chair and appeared to shout something back at Tepper, who turned away in a huff and walked out of the screenshot.

This is obviously a terrible look for Tepper. No amount of good PR can make this look good, assuming that the situation did play out as it was recorded. At the end of the day, though, for a man in his power, more restraint should be used. And there’s nothing wrong with holding him accountable for not showing enough restraint, either.

It’s not a great day to be the Panthers. After suffering another loss, they locked up the No. 1 overall pick… for the Chicago Bears. The Panthers traded their 2024 pick to the Bears last year in order to get the No. 1 pick. But, after a disastrous season, that trade is looking worse by the day.
