Chiefs Patrick Mahomes Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn’t taking the Buffalo Bills lightly.

While Mahomes and the Chiefs have one-upped the Bills in the playoffs before, this version could be different. The Chiefs haven’t looked at their usual prolific selves this season. A lack of chemistry and explosion has made the Chief offense look pedestrian at times.

But ahead of their game against the Bills, Mahomes is willing to concede on something.

“The Bills are a great challenge,” Mahomes said via NFL.com. “I think everybody understands that they’ve gotten my number a lot of times. We’ve been lucky enough to get them in the playoffs, but they beat us earlier this year. So we understand that we’re going to have to play our best football to win the game, especially at their place, but it’s not about ending someone’s season for us. It’s about just advancing, trying to find a way to survive, and advance and get to the next round, and whatever that takes this weekend we’re going to try to do and try to go out there and win a football game.”

Mahomes and the Chiefs and Josh Allen and the Bills have produced memorable contests before. It’s likely that the two teams could do that again this weekend in the AFC Divisional Round. The last time they did, Gabe Davis scored four touchdowns and then Mahomes led a game-winning drive with less than fifteen seconds left. We’ll see what’s in store this weekend.
