Tennessee Titans rookie Will Levis has astonished critics and NFL fans with his play. While he became a bit of an avatar during NFL Draft season for a potentially bad assessment of his play, Levis has turned heads. The former Kentucky star played brilliantly in his first game against the Atlanta Falcons. It didn’t take him long to win the starting job from now on, either.

Head coach Mike Vrabel announced on Tuesday that going forward, Levis will be the team’s starting quarterback.

Levis, a second-round pick, earned the job after just two weeks of action as the team’s starter.

“Titans coach Vrabel has named Will Levis the starting QB, an important move going forward,” NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport said.

The move signals the end of the quarterback competition in Nashville. Levis, Malik Willis, and Ryan Tannehill all had their moments with a chance to get the job. It’s Levis’ team now, which is a big step for the rookie and the team.

The Titans have been in need of an identity beyond the great Derrick Henry. King Henry may be nearing the downturn of his career, but he’s still chugging along. Still, there hasn’t been strong quarterback play in Nashville arguably since the days of Steve McNair. So if Levis keeps playing well, expect the fans to continue to rally behind him.
