The Minnesota Vikings have a fluid situation at quarterback. After trotting Joshua Dobbs and Nick Mullens at QB the last few weeks, Minnesota will make yet another change heading into Week 17. The Vikings announced on Thursday that rookie quarterback Jaren Hall is the team’s new starter.

Hall will lead Minnesota against longtime archrival Green Bay this weekend on Sunday Night Football.

The Vikings announced the quarterback move on X, the popular website formerly known as Twitter. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news.

“A QB change for the Vikings: This time, rookie Jaren Hall will start,” Rapoport said. “His last start was shortened by injury, and Hall gets another chance with the season on the line.”

Kirk Cousins went down with an injury earlier this season, which has reshuffled the deck in Minnesota. They have had three quarterbacks play for them since Cousins went down. Through it all, the Vikings have stayed in the playoff hunt. They are right in the thick of it and may only need one or two more wins to secure a spot. Beating the rival Packers will have to be done to get there. So there’s a lot on Hall’s plate this weekend.

Stranger things have happened. You may remember that Minnesota went to Green Bay with Joe Webb in 2012 and pulled off a stunning victory. Will history repeat itself?
