Get ready for another summer full of debates about satellite camps in college football. Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh will be making another trip south this summer to work at a camp in the state of Alabama. Harbaugh and the rest of Michigan’s coaching staff will attend a football camp at Bob Jones High School in Madison, Alabama on June 6.

Harbaugh worked at a camp in Alabama last season, which became most notable because it gave us viral images of a shirtless Harbaugh playing football with the camp attendees while still wearing his signature khakis and Michigan cap. One can only wonder what we will be seeing this time.

Per NCAA rules, college football coaches are permitted to work at a football camp at another college or university. However, they are prohibited from selling or publicizing their appearance. To some, this is considered a loophole in the NCAA rule book.

The ACC and SEC had rules within their conferences that prohibit their coaches from working at another camp off their main campus outside of their state or a certain radius with its epicenter at that coaches school, but that is in the process of changing after failing to get the NCAA to crack down. The Big Ten has no such rule, which is why Harbaugh and Nebraska’s Mike Riley, Ohio State’s Urban Meyer and Penn State’s James Franklin have all taken advantage of the opportunity to work at another camp outside of the Big Ten footprint.

Harbaugh and Michigan are wrapping up a week of spring football practices in Florida at IMG Academy in Bradenton. That spring break trip caused plenty of outrage and debate from the land of the SEC and ACC, and gave us some good memories on Twitter with Harbaugh firing back at his critics left and right. This all went down after Harbaugh caused a ruckus last summer with his satellite camp tour.

If you were curious, Bob Jones High School is located about 90 minutes away from Auburn and two-and-a-half hours away from Tuscaloosa, home to the University of Alabama.
