Boxing champion Ebanie Bridges says she will never fight a transgender boxer, because it is just too dangerous.

In an interview this week with Bitcoincasinos.com, the Australian boxer, who is the IBF female bantamweight champion, said that she has fought men before in practice rounds, and they are “hell strong.”

She said boxers assigned male sex at birth just have too much of a physical advantage, even after transitioning, so she would never fight a transgender woman.

“No, never – I think it’s wrong, especially in boxing and really in all sports,” Bridges said. “I just think a lot of women in sports that are breaking records weren’t originally women and in boxing when you are trying to hurt the other person (that’s the goal), it’s wrong.

“It’s like saying Mike Tyson suddenly wants to be a woman now and fights you — no way! I even spar with boys or guys smaller than me and they are ‘hell strong.'”

Bridges, nicknamed the “Blonde Bomber,” has a 9-1 mark as a pro fighter. She posted a 26-4 record as an amateur and took home gold in the women’s bantamweight event at the 2016 and 2017 Australasian Golden Gloves.

Bridges, who is also an OnlyFans model, thinks transgender athletes competing against women is unfair to the women who have trained to be the best.

“Think about a female wanting to be the best in her sport and then she has to compete against men who’ve transitioned obviously into women and that takes the whole feminine side,” Bridges said. “And then you got women who transition into men that go against the men, which never happens. … There’s no girls that go, ‘I’m transitioning because I feel like I’m male’ and they go into men’s sport. They don’t do that.

“It’s only the other way around. And if it was the other way around, for example, in combat sports, unless she’s taking a lot of testosterone and steroids – which is banned – you’re gonna get blasted by men.”

The solution, Bridges said, is a separate division for transgender competitors.

“Maybe they need their own space or competitions and fight in their own divisions,” Bridges said. “I think that’s fair as it’s dangerous and also it just takes it away from ‘women’s sport’ — ladies that have trained hard to be the best and could potentially fight a former man.”
