Mike Tyson is regarded by most to be one of the greatest boxers of all time, and clearly has a ton of teachable qualities to up-and-coming boxers. News emerged on Thursday that Tyson will be in the corner for one of the most highly anticipated boxing matchups in recent memory.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou recently last month that he will be stepping into the ring to face WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Ngannou, one of the most feared knockout artists in MMA, will likely need a ton of work to transfer his raw athletic ability into the sport of boxing. And he will reportedly have Tyson as a trainer for the matchup in October.

According to boxing insider Michael Benson, Tyson has officially been appointed by Ngannou as one of his trainers that will be in his corner for the fight in Saudi Arabia on October 28th.

Given Tyson’s reputation in the sport of boxing, fans certainly took notice of this news. Many fans believe that Tyson’s expertise could be a huge bonus for Ngannou as he prepares for this upcoming fight.

While Ngannou has an impressive 17-3 MMA record with 12 knockout wins, he does not have any professional boxing experience. Compare that to Fury’s 33-0-1 record and you have a huge experience discrepancy in favor of Fury.

Even with Tyson’s expertise, it could certainly be an uphill battle for Ngannou as he faces one of the best boxers in the world in Tyson Fury.
