The South Carolina women’s basketball team is the top team in the country and is the favorite to win the upcoming NCAA Tournament. If that happens, the team would likely receive an invitation to celebrate at the White House with United States President Joe Biden. But head coach Dawn Staley isn’t thinking about that yet.

During a press conference this week, Dawn Staley was asked about the potential of visiting the White House if her team won the national title. But given that the regular season isn’t even over, she wasn’t ready to answer any questions like that.

“Somebody said something to me about March,” Staley said according to On3. “We’re not interested in March tonight. We have things to do.”

While it might be a fair question given how long it took the White House to invite the Georgia Bulldogs for a celebration, Staley is just focused on coaching her team in the final few regular season games.

“I don’t think, I mean people are talking about it but, I mean, it’s 2023 now. It’s 2023 now. I don’t–I mean, my focus is on trying to win this game tomorrow night and that’s my only focus and once that’s over, it’s on to Georgia,” Staley said.
