Ian Eagle

After 2023, there will reportedly be a new voice of the men’s NCAA Tournament. Jim Nantz, who has been on March Madness duty for over 30 years, is set to step aside to spend more time with family according to the New York Post.

Nantz will still have a presence as he will be handing out the trophy, in addition to his Masters and NFL duties, but in Nantz’s place calling the Final Four is reportedly going to be Ian Eagle. Eagle has been a mainstay on CBS and Warner Bros. Discovery  sports broadcasts. The popular play-by-play commentator has been with CBS since 1998 and typically been on the No. 2 commentary crew behind Nantz for college basketball and NFL football. Now, he’ll be upgraded to the top spot on the basketball side.

The reaction from many online seem to be rather similar. While they’ll miss Nantz, they’re glad Eagle is taking over.
