Over the years, John Calipari has collected quite a few famous friends and supporters while leading the Kentucky Wildcats basketball program, and it looks like he picked up one more: Grammy Award-winning rapper Lil Wayne.
On Sunday afternoon, John Calipari shared a photo of him and Lil Wayne in what appears to be his office at Kentucky and he had a clear message for the rapper, declaring him part of “#LaFamilia.”
“Loved spending time with @LilTunechi today. Love his story, love that he surrounds himself with people who love and support each other. That’s team!! Just like @Drake, Wayne is a big part of #LaFamilia!! Loved having him in the office today!” Calipari said in a tweet on Sunday afternoon.

Of course, Lil Wayne’s hangout session with Calipari was not totally random. The rapper actually has a concert in the Kentucky Wildcats home of Rupp Arena on Sunday night. So he presumably took some time to hang out and visit with Calipari before his performance in the arena.
While Lil Wayne’s relationship with Calipari and Kentucky may not be quite as strong as that of Drake, who is a notorious Kentucky superfan, it’s safe to say that he got a warm welcome from the school.
