LSU's Angel Reese explains gesture towards Caitlin Clark.

The LSU Tigers surprised many by defeating the Iowa Hawkeyes led by women’s college basketball sensation Caitlin Clark to win the NCAA Championship. However, some bad blood between the two teams led to a moment where LSU star Angel Reese mocked Clark near the end of the game.

LSU was in control for much of the game, taking an 11-point lead into the fourth quarter. They pulled away towards the end of the game, which is when Reese began to trash-talk Clark.

Reese copied Clark’s infamous “You Can’t See Me” gesture that she made famous in Iowa’s Final Four win over South Carolina. She then continued to point to her ring finger to add insult to injury that she would be getting a championship while Clark will not.

Reese discussed the lack of sportsmanship after the game, saying that Clark disrespected her teammates Alexis Morris and her fellow SEC school in South Carolina.

“I’ll tell y’all I was waiting,” said Reese on mocking Clark. “Caitlyn Clark is one hell of a player for sure. But I don’t take disrespect lightly. She disrespected Alexis (Morris) and South Carolina. They are still my SEC girls too. I had a moment at the end of the game and I was in my moment.”

While it was a great team win for LSU, some believe that it was somewhat marred by this poor show of sportsmanship from Reese in a game that was already pretty much over.

Others absolutely loved the intensity from Reese and believe that Caitlin Clark should certainly be able to take the trash talk that she often dished out much of the NCAA Tournament.

Regardless of how you view the situation, Angel Reese and the LSU Tigers are champions which is something that nobody can take away.
