The college basketball world tuned in Sunday to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes take on the LSU Tigers for the 2023 Women’s NCAA National Championship.

However, they have ended up watching the referees blow their whistles a lot, much to the chagrin of many.

While Caitlin Clark is putting on another scoring clinic, the refs have been calling tons of fouls, many of which seem unnecessary for viewers, and it’s causing a lot of disappointment from fans who want to see women’s college basketball shine in the title game.

They really looked around the arena and said wow, these people are all here to see us, the referees,” said Matt Ellentuck

“Get a different referee crew at half pls. We wanna watch a game,” said Virginia Tech’s Kayana Traylor.

“No matter the sport, level, or gender. Referees can find a way to ruin the best & most important* sporting events,” said Nick Wright.

This is great basketball being ruined by the referee show,” said Kennington Lloyd Smith

“The referees should have to participate in some sort of single-elimination officiating tournament to get to the Final Four,” said Rodger Sherman.

Hopefully, the refs get it out of their system and they let Iowa and LSU battle it out amongst themselves in the second half for the right to be called champion.
