Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian wasn’t exactly greeted with hugs and kisses when he arrived Saturday ahead of their game against Alabama.

In fact, Sarkisian was booed during his College Game Day appearance.

The Longhorns head coach took it in stride, jokingly saying: “I mean we won a lot of games together, I don’t understand!”

Sarkisian was beloved by most Bama fans when he was the offensive coordinator for the Tide. A lot of fans were sad to see him go when he decided to take the head coaching position at Texas.

But many were glad to see him get another chance as a head coach, even if it was at Texas.

Under Sarkisian, the Alabama offense was one of the best in the country. In 2020, the team went undefeated and produced their third Heisman winner with wide receiver DeVonta Smith.

Sarkisian and the Longhorns almost beat the Tide last year in Austin, so it’s understandable why he may not be shown love by the fans.

Some Tide fans, however, don’t understand the booing and question why some fans were disrespecting him.

The SEC can be a brutal place to play, so anyone expecting Sarkisian to be treated any other way clearly doesn’t know much about SEC football.
