A scary situation has emerged within the Ohio State Buckeyes football program as wide receivers coach and offensive coordinator Brian Hartline has been hospitalized after he was involved in a crash early Sunday morning.

According to a report from Daniel Griffin of NBC4, Brian Hartline was taken to the hospital after crashing his UTV side-by-side vehicle on his property at approximately 1:20 a.m. – hours after Ohio State completed its annual spring game in Ohio Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

“Hartline, 36, is being treated at Riverside Memorial Hospital, a hospital spokesperson said. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time,” Griffin wrote for NBC4 on Sunday afternoon. “A Delaware County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson confirmed the crash happened at approximately 1:20 a.m. Sunday on Hartline’s property near Powell. The spokesperson also confirmed Hartline was the driver of the UTV side-by-side involved in the crash.”

Hartline provided an update on his condition, saying “I am doing well.”

Hartline has served on Ohio State’s coaching staff since 2018 when he became the team’s wide receivers coach. He has continued to coach the team’s wide receivers for the past five seasons, emerging as one of the top position coaches and recruiters in the country in recent years. This offseason, he was promoted to offensive coordinator after the departure of the previous offensive coordinator, Kevin Wilson.
