There is already no shortage of bowl games this season with 42 different bowls slated to take place in December and January this bowl season. But it looks like the city of Cincinnati is considering adding one more – and the proposed name is absolutely perfect for the location.

According to a report from WLWT5 of Cincinnati, the city has launched a “feasibility study” with plans to bring a bowl game to The Queen City. The game is tentatively called the Cincinnati Chili Bowl, named after the famous cuisine from the region, and would be played in TQL Stadium, where FC Cincinnati plays its home games.

While the game does not yet have conference tie-ins or partnerships, it is expected that the game will be broadcast on the CW, joining a very small list of bowl games that are not broadcast on the ESPN family of networks.

The game is also expected to act as a networking event for players with 30 regional corporate leaders invited a ‘Big Wigs Business Bruch,’ giving student-athletes from the two teams a chance to meet with business leaders and provide them with potential opportunities after their playing days end.

The Cincinnati Chili Bowl also does not yet have an official sponsor. Although given the tentative name of the bowl, it would make sense for either Skyline Chili or Goldstar Chili to emerge as the game’s primary sponsorship partner.
