The Clemson Tigers face uncertainty on Saturday. In unfamiliar territory from the last 10 years or so, the Tigers boast just a 2-2 record on the season. Things on Saturday may get treacherous now, as the team traveled without two key starters.

Clemson wide receiver Antonio Williams and cornerback Nate Wiggins won’t play in Saturday’s game against the Orange. The Tigers traveled without Wiggins and Williams, who had been limited in practice this week. The indication appeared that they were on the right track, but obviously, that was not to be.

“Clemson DB Nate Wiggins and WR Antonio Williams did not travel to Syracuse and will not be available today,” Clemson247 said.

The Tigers are 7-point favorites against the Orange, but that might be a tough task today. The Orange are 4-0 on the season, and a win over the Tigers would improve them to a strong 5-0. Clemson would have three losses before October, which would be particularly jarring given how few losses they had from 2015-2021. But times have changed and Clemson has been playing from behind this season. Quarterback Cade Klubnik won’t have one of his targets on Saturday, and the defense won’t have one of its sturdiest defensive backs.

The college football world reacted to the Clemson news that emerged on Saturday morning. There was plenty to say from all comers.
